Iron Maiden - Wasted Years guitar tab
From: Liljequist Christian A1C 20 OSS/OSAT Subject: i/iron_maiden/wasted_years.tab Date: Fri, 16 Aug 2002 17:02:11 -0400 Song: Wasted Years Artist: Iron Maiden Album: Somewhere In Time Tabbed By: Christian "Swede" Liljequist (lilviking3@hotmail.com) This is my first tab, so I figured I'd start with an essential Maiden piece. All who know this song know it's a very energetic crowd pleaser....and fun as all hell to jam with some beers! Hopefully I can do it some justice, although my guitar isn't in front of me at the moment...be nice, but critique MORE THAN WELCOME! Have fun shreddin this mother... This is the basic way to play it. There's some adlibing that they do throughout each verse... You should be able to find your way. The guitars do some different positions...E/E5, octaves, barre kinda dynamics... Like I said, you'll dig your own way through it. But this is the song all and all. The intro to this requires some really fast, controlled picking. Try to keep your up and downs tight as to not hit the B. It might seem hard not to double pick the fretted notes at first. (It even happens to them live!) Standard tuning (E A D G B E) (I use "." for palm mutes) Intro: key of E minor(?) I'll leave that up to your creative imagination.
